Distribute the (-6) into the (3x+2), then combine like terms, then isolate the only remaining x-term, the divide.
Distribute the (-6)
-18x-12+5x-2=4
Combine like terms
-13x-14=4
Add 14 to both sides (isolating the x-term)
-13x=18
Divide both sides by (-13) to get x alone
x=[18/(-13)]
