If 7/8 is multiplied by 4/5, will the product be greater than either of the two factors?

I am working on multiplying factors and I don't understand some questions like this one. Please explain to me. Math is not my best subject.

7/8 is exactly 0.875; you should not use a crude approximation as a justification for a comparison.

Hi Ashley, Kenneth does not like the fact I used an approximation to give the answer. He prefers the exact amount, 7/8 = .875.

It is a matter of choice, but be careful. If you need an exact answer, Kenneth is correct. If you are looking for answers and there is more than one, I like my approach.

You have to decide which approach is correct for you.

OK?
