How do I find the electrical energy?

A mini wind turbine produced an average of .4378v (volts) at 25 seconds. The current in amps is 0.04378. I used a 10 Ohm resistor. Is it possible to calculate the electrical energy? 

 

I believe you use 

Energy = Power x Time 

but I am not completely sure.

 

What data do I use to find the electrical energy?

Energy E can also be defined as a product of potential difference  V (voltage) and the amount of electricity Q,

 

                                    E = VQ

where

                                     Q = It 

 

(because electric current is the amount of electric charge carried per unit of time).

Thus

                                      E = VIt

 

If R - resistance, then you can write

 

                            E = (V² /R)t = I²Rt

 

 

In your problem the resistance, I guess, was calculated, but there was no need to do it if you have to

 

calculate just energy.

Electrical power = V x I

Electrical energy = V x I x t = .4378 x .4378/10 x 25 = .479 Joules

= (.4383 x .4378)/(10x1000)  x (25/3600) KWH = 0.133 x 10^-6 KWH
