Let's break this up...

(5/11)(7/7)=35/77

(2/7)(11/11)=22/77

Let's put it back together...

(35/77)-(22/77)=13/77

 Adding and subtracting fractions take  4 step.

 

   5/ 11 - 2/ 7                 / fractions with the same value of the denominator can be added and subtracted.

 

 

   35 /77    -  22/77 =    / make denominator of each fraction LCM of both denominators, i.e. / 77 = 7X11

 

     13/77                    / then multiply the numerator of each fraction by the same number as multiplied the

                                 / the denominator , i.e   77/11 = 7 , and 77/7 = 11

                                / Now we made 2 fractions equal with the original ones , that we could write the same
