How do I graph by applying the piece wise definitions?

Correction, Andrew: This graph has no vertical asymptote; rather, it has a jump discontinuity at x=0.
 
The graph consists of two Rays-without-specific origins.
(They would be rays, except they don't include their start points, just as you 'pointed' out.)
