Your probability for a heart or an ace assumes that the "or" is inclusive, i.e., it may be a heart or an ace or both. The probability for an exclusive "or", one or the other but not both, is P(A) + P(B) - P(A ∧ B).

My answer was for the card being a heart and an ace both,
1 out of 52.

I wrote out the second answer because that looked like what
Og thought the problem was asking when he referred to the
events being dependent.  I was trying to show him that the
problem would have had OR written in it.

There is no OR in the problem, therefor it can not be assumed
that it is there.

Sometimes the wording on these problems does confuse the students.
