Chances/odds of simultanious specific ooutcomes from differing data sets

Question

two stacks of cards, one has 10 cards with 5 winning cards and you get to pick one, the other has 27 cards with one winning card and you get to pick 2 cards, what is the likihood that you will pick a winner out of both?

 

I would really like to learn how to solve problems such as this!

P(winner from stack of 10) is ½

P(winner from other stack) is 1/27 + (26/27)(1/26) = 2/27

 

P(winner from both stacks) is the product: 1/27
