Hello Tommekia!
Great question! History is one of my favorite subjects and like historians I enjoy history for the same reasons they do. Here are some reasons historians are interested in studying ancient history and uncovering the past.
For one, historians are fascinated with the way people lived long ago. Historians try to find clues and evidence to try to see what life was like in different places around the world. The use the information they find to draw conclusions on the people and place they are exploring.
Secondly, historians are interested in ancient people's culture. They like to understand these people's beliefs, customs, culture, and language.
Finally, historians are also interested in the type of activities they were involved in. For example, how work was like, how did they trade, how are the interactions between these people, religion, tradition, rituals, etc.
Historians are how we learned the information we know today, and as days go by we become a part of history and soon future historians will learn about us and our way of life.
I hope this has helped you. Feel free to request a lesson with me so we can have fun learning about history or any courses you're struggling with.
All the best.
