Question

Hi Im starting my sophomore year at a International IB School, and to pass into the Diploma Program you must have a personal project. Im thinking about doing something with gender equality and also athletics, for example writing a book about women athletes. I'm having a hard time to find the purpose, if anyone can help me, please respond.

There are some interesting areas you could pursue. Find one that will motivate you to do the work required.

One issue is how to handle transgendered athletes. If you have XY chromosomes, is it fair for you to compete against those with XX chromosomes?

Another interesting issue is the athletic clothing for Muslim or other women who adhere to a strict dress code.

Another interesting issue is the issue of females competing with or against men when their school does not have a sports team for their gender—for instance, high school young women competing on a wrestling team.

Another issue is that women gymnasts compete on certain equipment that men gymnasts do not and vice versa.
