A bicyclist rides 55km in 1 Hour, 30 Minutes. What is his speed?

I know you have to convert 55km to meters.

Does that mean the problem asks for the speed in meters per second?  In that case, it is what Arturo and Norbert showed below, plus a conversion from km/hr to m/s, which we could show you, if needed.

Mikeyera,

If you are required to give an answer in meters/sec, then proceed as follows:

v = d/t

d = 55 km = 55 km * (1000 m/km) = 55000 m

t = 1.5 hrs = 1.5 hrs * 3600 sec/hr = 5400 sec

v = d/t = 55000 m / 5400 sec ≅ 10.19 m/sec

where did you get the number 3600 sec/hr?

From 1 hour = 60 minutes, with 60 seconds per minute, so 1 hour = 60 minutes x 60 seconds/minute = 3600 seconds
