If your driving 32 miles a day.and has is 2.17 a gallon. Your car used 18 miles per gallon how much are you spending a week in gas.

I'm assuming there needs to be some corrections here: I assume you mean "gas" (not "has") is $2.17 per gallon and that your car uses 18 miles per gallon (rather than "used").  Also assuming a 7 day week, not a 5-day week (such as a work week).

 

Based of this, you have to figure out how many miles are driven in a week.  32 miles x 7 days (ans = 224 miles).  

 

Once you have this information you can use the 18 mpg (miles per gallon) to find out how many gallons you will consume.  This will look like 224/18 (ans = 12.44 gallons).

 

Since you need 12.44 gallons and gas costs $2.17/gal, you can write your equation as such: 12.44*$2.17.  This will get your gas spend in a week (ans = $27.00)

18 mi/1 gal = 32mi/? gal

Cross-multiply, then divide:

32 ÷ 18 ≅ 1.77 gallons of

gas used when traveling 32 miles.

Multiply 1.77 x 5 days = 8.85

gallons of gas used, at a cost of

2.17 a gallon = $19.20 total

cost of gas for 5 days.
