S = v0t - 16t2
S + 16t2 = v0t add 16t2 to both sides
(S + 16t2) / t = v0 divide both sides by t
S/t + 16t = v0 distribute

s = v0t − 16t2 is a quadratic equation in t, but is a linear equation in v0.
Solving for the desired variable:
v0t = s + 16t2
v0 = s/t + 16t2/t
v0 = s/t + 16t.
