Heat of fusion is a quantity of a given substance that equals to the amount of energy required to melt the solid form of the substance per unit mass melted. It is also the amount of energy required to freeze the liquid form of the substance per unit mass frozen.
Note that this value is not quite constant, as even for a given substance, it varies slightly when you change the pressure.
