Precalc help please!

Question

I sort of know how to do them but not enough to get the correct answer. Can you please help? Please walk me through the problem to get the answer. I really want to know how to do this.

1. Rewrite the given parametric equations in Cartesian form:
x(t) = 4 - t
y(t) = 3t +2

Tell me if this is also your answer:

 

x = 4 - t ---> t = 4 - x

 

y = 3t + 2 ---> t = (y-2)/3

 

Equating the two:

 

4 - x = (y-2)/3

12 - 3x = y - 2

 

3x + y = 14 (or whatever form you need)
