If Rs.6000 maintains a family of 5 persons for thirty days, for how long will Rs. 7200 maintain a family of 10 persons?

Given that rs.6000 maintains 5 people for thirty days, I am guessing that this is some product with a value of 6000.

this gives this equation:

(5 people)(30 days) = Rs.6000

(10 people)(x) = Rs.7200            

Rs7200 = 1.2(Rs.6000)                         combining equations

 

 

(10 people)(x days) = 1.2((5 people)(30 days))

x = 1.2(15 days)                                    divide each side by 10 people

X = 18 days
