Hi Tristan, OK, here is the setup.
Let S represent the number of student tickets sold.
Let A represent the number of adult tickets sold.
Then:
S + A = 101, the number of student tickets plus the number of adult tickets equals 101.
1.00 * S + 2.50 * A = 164.00, the number of student tickets times the cost of a student ticket plus the number of adult tickets times the cost of an adult ticket equals 164.00.
There are your two equations:
S + A = 101
1.00 * S + 2.50 * A = 164.00
Now solve.
