Is your question how to find the vertex?
Here's how.
y = -2x2 + 4x + 1 has a = -2, b = 4, c = 1. Use the vertex formula h = -b/(2a), k = f(h).
So, h = -4/(2·-2) = 1, k = -2(1)2 + 4(1) + 1 = -2 + 4 + 1 = 3.
The vertex is (h,k) = (1,3).
