Hi Scott.
All of the x's need to be grouped together on one side of the equation, and the integers need to be grouped on the other side of the equation.
First, simplify the equation.
7x+7-5x= -6
7x-5x+7= -6
2x+7= -6
Next, move all of the integers to the right side of the equation, and keep the x on the left side.
2x+7= -6
-7 -7
2x+0= -6-7
2x= -13
Now just solve for x by dividing both sides of the equation by 2.
2x= -13
(2x)/2 = -13/2
x= -13/2
