Why do most people in eastern Mediterranean live along the coast

A.  The coastal climate is more moderate than that of inland desert regions 
B.  The manufacturing-based  industrial  economy depends most people live and work in ports 
C.  The inland areas are to mountainous 
D.  This severe economy is primarily based on tourism

All of these are valid reasons. Though there is not a heavy manufacturing presence in most of these coastal towns, the presence of the ports themselves have been the key to the success of the local economies for millennia. Most of these countries have little natural resources except for a few tree-based crops so ports are the lifeline that these towns need to stay relevant to the rest of the world. The interiors are indeed generally more mountainous, and fresh drinking water is mostly to be found near the coasts, so this is why the towns were built there in the first place.
