68% of the citizens approve of a governor. Only 47% of the citizens approve of both the governor and the lieutenant governor. If a randomly selected citizen approves of the governor, what is the probability that the citizen also approves of the lieutenant governor?

So the general rule is P(A given B) * P(B)= P(A and B)  or P(A given B)=P(A and B) / P(B)

 

A= Approval of LG

B= Approval of G

 

P(B)=.68

P(A and B)=.47

 

P(A given B)=.47/.68=.69 or 69%
