The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0

y=5(2/1)⁰

Anything to the exponential of 0 is 1.

y=5(1)

y=5

 

The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0

0=5(2/1)^x

Anything with an exponential cannot have a value of 0.  There is no x-intercept.  This line will never touch the x-axis.

There is no x-intercept for this exponential function, x-axis is an asymptote. 

y = 5(2)^-x → 0  as x → +∞

y-intercept is 5.

y = 5(1/2)⁰ = 5
