Hi Johanna
Remember complementary angles are two angles whose sum is 90°.
One angle is ABC. Let's call that X.
The other angle will be Y.
So
X + Y = 90
And the first sentence tells us that X = Y+10
We can substitute this expression for X in the first equation.
X + Y = 90
(Y+10) + Y = 90
2Y + 10 = 90
2Y = 80
Y = 40
And since X = Y+10
X = 50
ABC = 50
