Multiply the numerator and denominator by (√5 + 2) and simplify you should get 5+2√5

 

The steps are; denominator (5^1/2-2)(5^1/2+2)=5-4=1 use the FOIL method

                      numerator 5^1/2(5^1/2+2)=5+2*5^1/2
