Matt goes to buy a TV. if he pays by cash, he gets a discount of 7%. If he pays by instalments, he has to pay an extra 10% in interest. The differ between the two methods is $16.66. Find the cost of the TV.

Rei, since the percentages are both of the original cost, the difference is 10 + 7 = 17% of the original price.

 

.17x = 16.66

      x = 98

 

The cost is $98.
