x+(0.12)(x)=30

1.12x=30

x=30/1.12

x=26.78 or 27 units

12%*27=0.12*27=3.24

27+3.24=30.24

26 doesn't work because 12%*26=0.12*26=3.12 and 26+3.12=29.12
