perimeter = 2L + 2W = 2(L + W)

 

L = 16+W

 

Substitute

 

2L + 2W = 2(16+W) + 2(W) = 104m

 

32 + 2W + 2W = 104     32 + 4W = 104

 

4W = 72     W = 18m

 

L = 16+W   L = 34m

 

Let's check it:

 

2 (L + W) = 2 (34 + 18) = 2 (52) = 104m     It works out.
