Let x be the distance planet i is from the sun

x-30.2 = distance planet ii is from the sun

x+24.8 = distance planet iii is from the sun

 

x + x-30.2 + x+24.8 = 190.2

 

Combine like terms and solve for x

 

3x - 5.4 = 190.2

3x = 195.6

x = 65.2

 

planet i is 65.2 million miles from the sun

planet ii is 65.2-30.2 = 35 million miles from the sun

planet iii is 65.2 + 24.8 = 90 million miles from the sun
