Should the United States depend on imported energy

Why should we depend on foreign country's for our imported energy,why can't the United States of America depend on there on source of energy?

We seem to be like people who aren't eating or sleeping so they can save money to go to a health club.

If we put people first we would solve many of our problems. i would have to check my notes but I think Hillary changed her mind 5 times on the Keystone Pipeline. But that alone means there was no bedrock conviction about energy independence or America First.
