Three bags of parking peanuts are used to fill two boxes. How many bags of p packing peanuts does each box use? Between which two whole numbers does the answer lie?

3 bags are used for 2 boxes

so each box gets 3/2 = 1.5 bags

 

check that: if box 1 gets 1.5 bags and box 2 gets 1.5 bags, the total is 1.5+1.5 = 3 bags

 

the number 1.5 lies between 1 and 2
