Find the y intercept by setting x = 0. Solve for y; the y-intercept is (0,y) <--whatever number y turned out to be.
Find the x-intercept by setting y = 0. Solve for x; the x-intercept is (x,0) <---whatever number x turned out to be.

Graphing by using the x & y intercepts is USUALLY the best way to graph a straight line. Exception: not good if the line passes through the Origin, or if equation is x = constant or y = constant.
