What is the area bound by y and the x-axis?

 

y=2 sin2x

Problem needs a more complete statement.  For example, you might mean what is the area under the curve y = sin 2x from x = 0 to "pi / 4."

 

Now that the function is legible, y = 2sin2x ,we can antidifferentiate 2sin 2x, getting -cos2x and when we evaluate for upper limit a = pi/2 and b = 0, using Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, we get the answer 2.
