I'm not too smart when it comes to this certain topic. I'm very confused on what to do in this word problem. I can't remember the steps to do this. If you can help, thank you.

We can use the formula to cross multiply the 1 page and the amount of time it takes her to read the whole assignment and then divide by how long it took to read one page:

 

1 1/2       22 1/2

1                 X

 

22.5 x 1= 22.5 / 1.5 = 15

 

 The assignment was 15 pages long.

 

We can check:

15 (amount of total pages) x 1.5 (the amount of time per page) = 22.5
