The force along the ramp = mg / Sin24° or weight/ Sin24°, if you want it in pounds just leave it as 17 Ib
=( 7.73 kg*9.8m/s2)/(0.4067366) or 17Ib/(0.4067366)
= 30.81N or 41.8 Ib
This force will propel the ball down the ramp so you need a force equal in magnitude to this but opposite in direction to prevent the ball from rolling down the ramp.
So you need a force of 30.81N or 41.8 Ib along the ramp pointing towards the top of the ramp.
