Larry spent 1/2 of his money on a camera and 1/8 on a radio.
This is the same as saying that Larry spent 4/8 of his money on the camera and 1/8 on the radio.
Then he spent 3/8 more on the camera.
The problem says that he spent $120 more on the camera.
This means that 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 = 120
What do I add to itself three times to get 120?
40, so 1/8 of his money must have been $40.
Then 8/8 of his money, or ALL of his money must be...
$320
because 8x40 = 320.
He must have started out with $320.
