Response Time

Police response time to an emergency call is the difference between the time the call is first received by the dispatcher and the time a patrol car radios that it has arrived at the scene. Over a long period of time, it has been determined that the police response time has a normal distribution with a mean of 8.1 minutes and a standard deviation of 1.4 minutes. For a randomly received emergency call, find the following probabilities. (Round your answers to four decimal places.)

(a) the response time is between 5 and 10 minutes

(b) the response time is less than 5 minutes

(c) the response time is more than 10 minute

Thank you for the help, but I still am not able to get the correct answers and this is the problem on my quiz that will increase my grade to an A. If you could possibly compute the answers for me, I would appreciate it greatly.

Kemba,

It really would not be appropriate for me to give you the answers outright. As I suggested it's better if I "teach" you how to do these kinds of problems. Once I show you the techniques you will be able to do these and others on your own. I know that's not the answer you wanted. Since I am throwing this at you quite suddenly if you would like a tutoring lesson I can certainly offer you a discount off my regular rate for the first hour. If you want more information please click on my picture and send me a direct message.
