Hello, thank you for taking the time to post your question!
Did the question have any more context than that? I’ve never heard of something being called a “natation sample”, but my guess is that it has something to do with swimming. You see the word “natation” used in place of swimming in a lot of scientific contexts, so it likely refers to a swimming sample, which could have different interpretations depending on the context.
I hope that helps you get moving in a better direction on this type of question! Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions beyond that :)

Well, natation has to do with swimming, so my best guess, based on what I've found is it's the mean of something use to train or help swimmers get better at swimming.

Hi Ayan,
Do you mean the sample mean notation? There are quite a few notations for the sample mean. M or m is a common notation that is used. Often, if x is the variable in the sample, putting a bar (?) over the x would indicate the mean of the variables. Unfortunately, I cannot create the exact character here, but it is just x with a line drawn horizontally above it.
The word "natation" means swimming. Does that make any sense in the context you found it in? For example, are you working on a problem that has to do with swimming?
