I have been tutoring as an Educational Therapist with children who have mild to severe learning disabilities for over 25 years. In my opinion, the integration of visual, auditory and tactile means is the better way to learn. As we know our brain continues learning all through life, and the visual, auditory, tactile sections are interconnected. The iPad is an example of a learning machine that automatically integrates learning

styles that accommodate most students.

Traditional learning has often been  A.) Aural (by hearing).  This is how most teachers teach - lecture method.

 

By my own informal research over approximately 5 consecutive years with 130-150 students each year, I am finding an interesting trend.

 

Most students in today's generation have the preferred learning style of B.) Kinesthetic (involving movement), by an overwhelming margin. About 60-75% of all my students surveyed were kinesthetic learners.

 

This is in stark contrast to how many current school teachers teach.
