how much is straight time pay?

I worked 36 hrs. per week and I get double time for any hours over 36. last week I worked 42 hrs. and received 545.28. what was my straight time pay?

Worked 42 hours.  36 at regular pay and 6 hours at double pay.

 

Let p = regular rate of pay

 

36p + 6(2p) = 545.28

36p + 12p = 545.28

48p = 545.28

p = 11.36

 

The regular or straight pay is $11.36 per hour.
