(-10)+(-15)=l-10l+l-15l=10+15=25 and use the negative sign because both numbers are negative; answer:-25
(21)+(-21)+(-4)=[(21)+(-21)]+(-4)=0+(-4)=-4 because 21 and -21 are opposites and any number plus its opposite equals 0, or...
(21)+(-21)+(-4)=(21)+[(-21)+(-4)]=...
(-21)+(-4)=l-21l+l-4l=21+4=25 and use the negative sign because both numbers are negative, so you get -25 so far
(21)+(-25)=l-25l-l21l=25-21=4 and you use the negative sign because you use the sign of the number with the greater absolute value., answer: -4 (note: when you add a positive number and a negative number you subtract their absolute values and use the sign of the number with the greater absolute value)
when you add numbers with the same sign, you add their absolute values and use the same sign as the numbers
(-22)+(-16)=l-22l+l-16l=22+16=38 and use the negative sign, answer: -38

1. If you mean -10 + |-15| ... then absolute value of -15, which is |-15| is equal to 15. So, -10 + 15 = 5.
2. 21 + |-21| + |-4| ... absolute value is just the positive value of the number, so 21 + 21 + 4 = 46.
3. -22 + |-16| ... same as the others, -22 + 16 = -6.
