1 minute is a fifth of 5 minutes so you would correspondingly need to figure out what is a fifth of 1/3 mile. To do this you could divide 1/3 by 5.

 

(¹ / ₃) / 5

 

Another way to think about this division (and in fact, you can ALWAYS think about division in this way) is in terms of a multiplication by ¹ / ₅.

 

(1 / ₃)  / 5 = (¹ / ₃) * (¹ / ₅) = ¹ / _{15    of a mile.}
