asked 12/01/15If my scales cannot be correlated can I use any other tests to find results? If so which ones?
I am measuring religiosity and gun attitudes. I correlated the two scales together and they were found to not be significantly related. Are there any other tests I can compute to determine a relationship?

I think you are using the GSS dataset, right? Are the responses to these two items interval or nominal. Be careful you are using the right test to determine an association. You might want to do an ANOVA to look at mean religiosity based on the number of guns a person owns. If they are both nominal variables you might do a crosstab and chi-square.
