Hi Laura,

  All you have to do for this type of question is plug in the value that is in the parentheses beside the name of the function into the function wherever you see the original variable.

 

for example if I said F(x) = 5x+4/x and I asked you to find F(5) you would calculate F(5), which would be pronounced "Eff of five" and means the value of the function "F" evaluated when x is 5,

as follows:

  5(5)+4/5 = 25.8
