Dear Tatum,
Draw a number line that starts at zero. The first number, the 2, represents your number of jumps, and the second number represents how many units in a jump. Here are some examples:
3X2=6 There are three jumps (groups) with 2 units in each group.
_ .____.____〉. ___.____〉.____.___〉.__________> 3X2 Three groups of 2 (3 jumps of 2units)
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
_________>________>_______>_______>______________> 4X2=8 Four groups of two units
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
Usually, there is a half circle mark that goes to each group. I can only show the mark as the arrow. If you follow
these examples, you can work your problem the same way.
