Assuming your last test will be the final we can setup a weighted average to factor in the final being stronger than the other tests:
20% of the overall test grade comes from the final and the remaining comes from the other six tests.
78 = (x)(20%) + (67.5)(80%) converting the percentages to decimals give:
78 = x(.2) + (67.5)(.8) multiplying the decimals gives:
78 = .2x + 54
-54 -54 subtracting 54 from both sides gives:
24 = .2x now we can multiply both sides by 5 because 5*.2=1
(5*24) = 5(.2x)
120 = x
You would need a 120 on the final to average a 78 for the test portion of the grade.
