What is correct answer to 7/12 divided by 1/4 x 9/14 I have to evaluate the expression and write the answer in simplest form.

My answer was 3/7/27    The teacher marked it wrong and said it was 1 1/2.  She is no longer available to explain.

Let's first divide 7/12 by 1/4:  flip the second fraction and multiply--> 7/12 x 4/1 = 28/12 = 7/3 after reducing by dividing top and bottom by 4

 

Now let's multiply by 9/14--> 7/3 x 9/14 = 63/42 = 3/2 after reducing by dividing top and bottom by 21.

 

3/2 is equal to 1 1/2
