the average score on a math test for 25 students was a 62%. 4 more students took the test, and the average of these 4 students was 67%.  what was the average for all the students?

let x be the score of 25 students

 

avg1=x/25=62

 

x=62*25=1550

 

let y be the score of 4 students

 

avg2=y/4=67

 

y=67*4= 268

 

Total score by 29 students= (x+y) = 1550+268= 1818

 

average of 29 students=1818/29=62.69
