Let larger no be x, smaller no be y.

 

x-y= 20.....eq 1

x+4y=50.....eq 2

 

subtract eq 1 from eq 2, we get

 

x+4y=50

-x+y=-20

  5y =30

y= 30/5=6

 

x=20++6=26

 

Two numbers are 26 & 6.

4x+(x+20)=50

4x+x+20=50

5x+20=50

5x=50-20

5x=30

x=30/5

x=6

x+20=6+20=26

the numbers are 6 and 26
