What does the phrase ' being unattractive means playing the dating game on a hard difficulty ' means?

This is a quote from a boy that I like and he likes me on his Facebook timeline. He also play virtual games, and there is one which called The Dating Game. I'm confused about what he means.. I'm not sure if he is playing this virtual game..

Sounds like he's simply saying that someone who is not good looking may have a hard time getting dates.  Was this quote directed at someone in particular?

This was a public quote on his Facebook page.. So it's not sure where exactly goes.. But for sure we have contact in close way but we have not meet each other yet, because we met on Internet. He said to me to if I want to date him, I said sude, now we haven't met yet, we are talking almost all day but it seems he does a delay of this meeting.

When I read this at first time, I was feeling that he the meaning oc the phrase is, that a hard dating person becomes unattractive. So maybe it's me unattractive, because maybe there is something that he find hard difficulty on me to date with me..

It is possible he was referring to himself having a hard time getting dates. Perhaps he has a slight self esteem problem.  Regardless, the best way to find out is simply to ask him.  If you are actually interested in going out with him, send him a private message and tell him so.
