Hi Meeka, in dry measure, 1 tablespoon is equal to 1/2 ounce. 1 cup is 8 ounces, therefore, 1/2 is 4 ounces or 8 tablespoons.
To find out how much 1/2 cup of paprika weighs, multiply the number of tablespoons in 1/2 cup, 8, by the weight of 1 tablespoon of paprika, .25 ounces, to get the weight of 1/2 cup of paprika in ounces.
8 * .25 = 2 ounces, or 1/2 cup of paprika weighs 2 ounces.
To find out how much 1/2 cup of paprika weighs in pounds, we need to divide the 2 ounces by 16, the number of ounces in one pound.
Weight of 1/2 cup of paprika in pounds = 2 / 16 = 1 / 8 pounds. As a decimal, this would be .125 pounds.
