I love math, and I love to teach it.
Dear Tammy,
To find out if the ordered pair is a solution to the equation, just substitute the "X" for the X in the equation and the "Y"
for the "Y" in the equation.
X +Y = 8 X= 4 and Y=6 Therefore, 4 +6= 8 , but this equation is false because 10≠8 (Ten does not equal to
eight).
In conclusion, this coordinate is not one of the points on this equation; it is not a solution.
If this work helped you, please give me a thumbs up.
